James J. Keane
U.S Marine Corps
1956-1960
James J. Keane was born in Brooklyn and had worked at various schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island as a custodial engineer for the Board of Education.
He always told stories of his time serving as a Marine where he traveled all over the world.
He was known for his tremendous backyard parties, his jack of all trades knowledge, also his love of cars and motorcycles.
Most of all, he was known for his lifetime friendships and love for his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife Rosemarie, father to four children (Rosemarie, James, Margaret and Kellyann), and grandfather of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He retired from working at PS 20 in Port RIchmond, and resided in Annadale where he later had passed away on May 9, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 84.
