He was an allied member of the New York Stock Exchange. After retiring from the Lipper Corporation, he spent ten years as Administrative assistant at New Dorp High School’s Custodial Office. He is married and has three children and four grandchildren.
Kokell’s sixth generation maternal ancestor, Hendryck Kroesen, was the Lay Pastor or Vorleezer of the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church ca. 1696. Located then in Richmondtown, in a house similar to what is today known as the Vorleezer’s House, he led Sunday worship, taught the children and kept the records of the fledgling colony. Today, his descendants are still members of the Congregation.
